SD Adapters: What is the performance and speeds of them?

Posted by Mini Drive on 2016-04-14

Hi folks!

This post is very interesting and will clarify some things to the people who worry about the speeds of the MicroSD adapters.

Why are we talking about this as if it was confused?

Well... Because it is.

Sometimes our customers ask us about the speed of TheMiniDrive adapters.
If they will support a Micro SD that runs high speeds.

The answer is always Yes!

Our product is awesome!

But is not because of the high speeds.
Adapters have no speed. If some brand try to sell an adapter that can runs higher speeds than others, it's a cheat.

And now you will understand that forever.

It's pretty simple: you only can measure the speeds of the device that contain the flash memory, the adapter is just a connector.

If you take an empty MiniDrive and plug on your computer it will read nothing. The speeds are in the Micro SD or in the integrated models.

If you want to know a little more about Speed Class on SD cards, we indicate this article from SD Association.

Now lets talk about the Integrated models.

TheMiniDrive produces SD cards with integrated flash memory.
The standard capacity of those devices is 128GB and they fit most MacBook models, including  one model that fits on Windows computers.

Now we can talk about speeds!
:D

They runs in 80 mb/s for read and 60 mb/s for write.

We hope this article has been helpful to you. If you have some doubt about our products, or just about MacBook gadgets let us know and we'll try to clarify to you.

Thank You for your time!
